What a delightful gem! I visited for lunch on a Tuesday and was blown away by the variety on the menu. I tried the catfish and was impressed by how well it was fried—crispy and flaky with a delightful cornmeal batter. The side of yams was heavenly; they were sweet and perfectly spiced. The only downside was that it got a little busy during lunchtime, and I had to wait a bit longer than I would have liked for a table. However, once I sat down, the service was quick and efficient, and the food was more than worth the wait. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it a great spot for a casual meal or to catch up with friends. I can't wait to return and try the oxtails next time!

From the moment I stepped in, I felt like I was welcomed into a family gathering. The decor is charming, combining rustic elements with a homely vibe. I opted for the pulled pork platter, and it was one of the best decisions I made! The pork was smoky, juicy, and just melted in my mouth, while the homemade coleslaw provided a delightful crunch that balanced the flavors perfectly. One thing I particularly appreciated was the portions—generous enough to ensure you leave satisfied! I also had a slice of the peach cobbler for dessert, and it was like a warm hug in a dish; the crust was flaky and the peaches were sweet and juicy. If I had to suggest anything, it would be to maybe have more drink options; I would have loved to see some homemade lemonade or sweet tea on the menu. Overall, this place truly hits the spot for anyone looking for authentic comfort food that warms the soul. I can't wait to come back and bring my family!

Absolutely loved my experience here! I had the shrimp and grits, and it was phenomenal—so creamy and flavorful. The atmosphere felt cozy, and the staff were super friendly. Just a heads up, the wait for food was a bit longer than expected, but totally worth it for that delicious meal.

I can confidently say that this place serves some of the best soul food I've ever had! The moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home. I ordered the fried chicken, which was seasoned perfectly—crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The collard greens were a standout, cooked with just the right amount of seasoning, and the mac and cheese was creamy and indulgent. It’s clear that the chef knows their way around flavorful comfort food! Service was friendly and attentive, making sure my water was refilled promptly and checking in to see how I liked the food. My only minor suggestion would be to add more dessert options; the sweet potato pie was divine, but I found myself wanting something more after such a hearty meal. Overall, I can't recommend this spot enough for anyone craving authentic soul food. I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews, and it did not disappoint! I ordered the barbecue ribs, and they were fall-off-the-bone tender with a smoky flavor that was just right. The cornbread was light and fluffy, a perfect complement to the meal. My only critique would be that the place could use a bit more decoration to really enhance the cozy feel. It’s nice, but a few more personal touches could elevate the ambiance even further. Still, the food quality and friendly staff make this a must-visit for anyone looking for tasty comfort food. I’ll certainly be coming back!
